Description

Looking for ways to keep your home cooler this summer without relying on air conditioning or expensive renovations?

Join sustainability educator Rin Bunn for this practical and engaging workshop that explores budget-friendly ways to reduce heat in and around your home using clever indoor and outdoor design strategies.

Drawing on real-life examples from her own property and supported by thermal camera testing, Rin will share practical insights into:

  • Choosing paint colours that help reduce heat absorption

  • Using furniture and furnishings to improve insulation

  • The cooling benefits of trees, gazebos and shade structures

  • The effectiveness of different window awnings

  • How various blind styles perform in reducing indoor temperatures

  • Simple, affordable changes you can make before summer arrives

This workshop has been scheduled ahead of the warmer months, giving you plenty of time to plan and implement strategies that can make your home more comfortable and energy efficient throughout summer.

Rin holds qualifications in Conservation Biology, Environmental Science and Permaculture Design and is passionate about helping people live more sustainably. Drawing on hands-on experience managing a 1,400m² property featuring edible gardens, native plants, water harvesting systems and thermal management solutions, Rin brings a wealth of practical knowledge and proven examples to every workshop.
