Event description

Leila, Ros, Tahi White and The Nunnery invite you to HALLOW – an evening of mysticism and music to welcome the season of all things hallowed and horrifying. This eclectic range of artists spans artpop, experimental, punk and country music, but are united by their vivid storytelling and artistry. Come dressed in the spirit of the season and prepared to delight in the incantations and sorcery of sound.

Leila Harris is a composer, songwriter, musician and music producer. She combines her eclectic training and influences across classical and contemporary music to create innovative works that weave artistic disciplines, bewitching audiences with evocative, ethereal and cinematic soundworlds. Leila is interested in the power of the arts to uplift, empower, move and challenge, and seeks to carve out spaces for diverse and experimental voices. She has composed for a broad range of styles, genres, artists, groups and ensembles in Australia and internationally. In 2024, Leila released her debut album, Monstrous Feminine. She is currently studying a Master of Music (Composition) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is working on new music and research exploring women’s madness.

Ros is an indie country artist whose music feels like open skies and quiet confessions. Blending the honesty of country storytelling with the reflective textures of indie music, she crafts songs that are equal parts grounded and ethereal. After moving to Australia when she was a child, Ros found her voice in the country’s vibrant music scene, where wide landscapes and diverse sounds seeped into her songwriting. Her music carries a deep sense of place, yet it speaks to something universal; moments of longing, the search for belonging, and the fragile beauty of human connection. With a voice that’s both tender and resolute, Ros paints her stories in soft brushstrokes with songs that linger, ache and soothe in equal measure. Whether backed by atmospheric arrangements or pared back to their rawest form, her music always returns to its heart: stories told with honesty and care. Ros is carving out her own space in indie country; one that leans into vulnerability, embraces atmosphere, and invites listeners to step into the in-between spaces she calls home.

Tahi White is a rising artpop artist crafting music that dives headfirst into the shadows most shy away from. His songs lean into discomfort, exploring taboo & tension through stark lyricism & sonic unease. Gritty synths & frenetic beats drive a sound that’s as raw as it is revelatory.

The Nunnery is a cowpunk duo consisting of Sister Sammy and Sister Soren. They write and record on Bedigal and Gadigal land. With habits flowing and lapsteel whining they play songs about the transgender experience and their failed affair with the Mother Superior.
