Hand-held Loom Weaving Workshop
Description
Learn to make your own bespoke hand-held loom complete with woven artwork, using easy-to-find foraged and scavenged objects.
Participants will learn a simple method of making looms from foraged sticks, with guidance in weaving techniques such as plaiting, finger-knitting, and string-making to embellish their weavings. Get creative in finding your fibres, and take home a finished piece.
Suitable for people of all ages. No experience required: perfect for beginners to weaving and textile crafts.
What to bring: four sturdy sticks to become the base of your weaving.
Optional: any found or foraged fibres you wish to weave with, including yarns and ribbons, leaves and grasses, fabric scraps or old clothes, plastic and rubbish. Additional materials supplied.
