About the Class

Handbuild plates, bowls, and serving dishes to use at your own table. Amy covers rolling and compressing even slabs by hand and on the slab roller, working with templates and slump or hump molds, joining seams so they hold, and finishing rims and feet so pieces sit level. You'll explore a range of tableware and serving forms to inspire your own designs. Open to all levels.

Class tuition includes:

• Weekly class instruction

• 25 pounds of clay (firing & glaze included)

• Access to open studio hours

About the teacher:

Amy Irish makes functional and decorative pottery in her home studio in Hillsborough, NC, combining wheel-thrown forms with layered slips and underglazes to create one-of-a-kind work. She's inspired by the small things around her: her children, her garden, and cooking for her family. She hopes to share that joy with you through clay. amyirishpottery.wordpress.com · @amyjirish
