Join us in learning te ao Māori approach to restoration!

Hands On Ecology workshop series is designed for community restoration groups and anyone keen to learn about restoration ecology through a te ao Māori lens. A 3-hour session offers practical skills for restoring private and public spaces, and may include up to 2 hours of walking—please dress appropriately and bring water/snacks.

This session covers:

• Cultural footprint of spaces, awareness of living spaces and how we connect to them

• Kauri habitat protection

• Identifying restoration opportunities in urban reserves

• Using iNaturalist for data recording and plant ID

• Birds and plant identification

• Decision-making in restoration practices

Registration is essential as participant numbers are limited for health and safety reasons.
