About the workshop:
HAWT Couture brings together anti-fashion fashion sustainability practices with the imaginative world of DIY design and storytelling through costume.
What will I learn?
You will learn fun approaches to sustainable costume-making that are unique to you and the stories you want to tell through design. This will include experimenting with collage, costume designs, and the creation of wearable art. This workshop is less about specific 'techniques' or learning to sew ( there won't be any machines, but if you already sew, feel free to BYO), and more about embracing weird and wonderful ways of design-making.
What will I take home?
As much or as little as you want! It could include a collage 'mind-map' design, a 2D design of a costume, or even a DIY wearable costume or item. 5 hours is not a long time, but this can be the beginning of a whole new way of looking at costuming.
