Join us at the Payneham Library and step into the world of immersive creation with Headset Heroes — a hands-on Virtual Reality (VR) workshop like no other.

 

Across action-packed sessions, you’ll:

  • Use the latest Meta Quest 3 VR headsets

  • Design and build your own interactive 3D virtual worlds

  • Tackle real-world challenges by creating purpose-driven VR experiences

  • Gain future-ready skills in immersive tech, 3D design, and creative problem solving

  • Showcase your VR creations and share your vision with peers

This is your chance to be part of an exciting, cutting-edge experience that blends creativity, technology, and impact.

This program is hosted by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters in partnership with Reality Bytes Media, and is open to youth aged 10 to 18 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I bring along?

    VR equipment will be provided. Participants need to bring their own laptops,

  • Do I need to have prior experience with coding and VR?

    No! As long as you are enthusiastic to learn, the program is designed for students both with or without previous experience! However, it is expected that students have fundamental knowledge of how to use a laptop, access the internet, etc.

  • Can I wear my glasses in the headset?

    Yes! The VR headsets we use are designed to fit around glasses. Of course, it is fine for students to take off glasses when using VR if they prefer.

Lunch Break (30 mins)

Session 2, 1:00pm to 3:30pm - Importing 3D models into VR, developing VR projects for sustainability, free time playing/building in VR

 

Tuesday 7th October

Session 1, 10:00am to 12:30pm   - Intro to VR, learning to create VR experiences, using VR, intro to 3D modelling for VR
