Curious? This is the workshop for you!
Join Leigh from local Ballarat business Kindred Botanicals as she steps you through the wonderful world of plants at Food Is Free Green Space on Sat 5 Nov from 2pm - 3pm.
Workshop overview
This workshop is about developing relationships with plants; prompting an exploration of the connection we all have with Mother Earth and plants, and helping to develop or deepen our connection to herbs and their medicine. We will discuss plant-human relationships, the physical, spiritual and energetic medicine of plants, ways of getting to know the plants (like wild harvesting and gardening), and finding and identifying common weeds and plants that are medicinal, using the Food Is Free Green Space to help us discover the medicinal herbs in our local environment.
Bio
Leigh (she/her) is a student of Herbalism, a Social Worker and wildly passionate about the power and medicine of relationship with Mother Earth. While studying a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Western Herbal Medicine) is giving her a strong grounding in contemporary Herbal theory and practice, learning from the teachings of Herbalists gained through mentorship and readings, alongside time in Nature and developing relationships with the plants themselves, is what really ignites Leigh’s passion and connection with plants and their medicine. Leigh believes in respectful, reciprocal relationships and connections with plants and Mother Nature and hopes to kindle the same inspiration in others too.
