This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Join us as we hear from some of the living legends that were at the early community meetings about the emerging HIV and AIDS epidemic in Australia, and pivotal in the formation of the Victorian AIDS Council – now Thorne Harbour Health.

We will be joined by four esteemed panellists:

  • Alison Thorne – socialist, feminist activist, and one half of the organisation’s namesake
  • Phil Carswell OAM – founding President of the Victorian AIDS Council
  • Dr David Bradford – Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Physician
  • Adam Carr – pioneer HIV/AIDS journalist and activist, and VAC President 1986-87

The panellists will reflect their experiences in the early days of the epidemic, and the responses that have spurred four decades of actions for our communities.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided to attendees. This will be a seated event.
