What the discussion is about
The Australian Government has asked IHACPA (Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority) to undertake initial consultations on the NDIS pricing approach. These consultations will aim to identify principles to guide a new NDIS pricing framework and help consider options for NDIS pricing in the future.Â
We want to hear from you about:Â Â
- what you think is important to consider in pricing the NDISÂ
- how pricing approaches can best operateÂ
- what does and doesn't work.
Refreshments will be provided.
More information
IHACPA is the independent government agency that promotes efficiency and increases transparency in the delivery and funding of public health and aged care services across Australia. You can also find out more about who IHACPA is here: About IHACPA | IHACPA
IHACPA’s current work on NDIS pricing reform is about gathering evidence and using our expertise to provide advice to government. IHACPA will work with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), the Department of Social Services (DSS) and other government agencies along the way, to ensure any advice aligns with other NDIS reforms.
It is important to know that the Government has yet to decide on whether it will transfer the responsibility for developing pricing from the NDIA to IHACPA. Current NDIS pricing activities remain with the NDIA and its Board. This includes all work related to the 2024-25 Annual Pricing Review.
