We are so excited to have you with us at the 5th Horowhenua Taste Trail on Saturday 26th November 2022. Our producers and our foodies are busy working on their sites and preparing food to ensure you all have a tasty day out.

Entry only

Adult and Child

If you have an entry ticket five of our producers have partnered with cafes and restaurants to bring you delicious food experiences. The five sites will be serving up our Taste Trail Treats menu – small bites to eat that you can purchase on the day. They’ll also have a limited number of Taster Plates available – but you’ll have to get in quick as we’re expecting these to fly out the door.

On top of that, most sites have samples and food to buy for you to take home and enjoy later.

On arrival at your first site show your ticket QR Code either on your phone or on a printed copy. You will be given a wristband to wear for the day. Once you have shown your ticket at the first site you do not need to show it again. Please don’t remove the band until the end of the day as there are no re-issues.

Savour Event tickets

Our amazing savour events are going to take the showcase of our local producers to the next level. Please arrive on time for these events.

Tickets on the day

Take your e-ticket along to your first site. At the site, head to the information/ticket table and have your QR code ready, (this can be found on your ticket confirmation) or exchange your printed e-tickets on paper. You will then receive a lanyard or wristband depending on your ticket type.

• Entry Tickets - You will get a wristband to wear all day. Show this at the gate to each site for entry.

Some extra helpful tips for the day:

Cash - while we try to have EFTPOS at each site, because of our rural location this is not always possible. So make sure you have a mix of both.
We are focusing on sustainability and will have special bins set up for each item - please see the stickers on bins to place your rubbish correctly on the day.
Bring along a Chiller bag/ Chilly Bin – to help keep all your produce fresh throughout the day. Bring along your ice packs to keep your produce cool.
Covered footwear - for Bagrie Dairy Farm, Heights Farms and the NZ Egg Farm Tour.
Have your Phone / camera – you will want to capture the memories from your great day out. There will also be a Horowhenua Taste Trail Hamper up for grabs for photos captured on the day and shared on social media, so get snapping! Make sure you tag us #HorowhenuaTasteTrail
On the day take your e-ticket along to your first site, either on your phone saved as an image or a printed copy. At the site head to the ticket/info table and show your QR code or exchange your paper tickets for a lanyard or wristband.
Eat, Enjoy, Snap and Win
Share your images on social media with #tastetrail22 and you'll be in to win a Horowhenua Hamper Pack. Drawn the week following the event.
Once you have your lanyard or wristband that is yours for the day - there is no re-issue so look after them and keep them safe.
Sustainable approach. We are aiming to limit our waste that is left at the end of the day – so bring your keep cup, a water bottle, your carry bags - or purchase a market bag on the day at one of the sites – please note these are strictly while stock lasts. If you are going to a Savour event feel free to bring along a special keep cup for your drinks. No glass though please.
Stay Hydrated.
Safety first. These are working production sites so please be careful.
Wear appropriate footwear.
No Alcohol is to be consumed unless purchased at the location.
We are a smoke and Vape free event.
No dogs allowed, as these are food production sites.
Children missing – While we hope that children stick close by this is a big event and sometimes you might be separated. Please let your children know that if they can’t find you - they are to find the info and help desk. This is where any lost children will be taken. Feel feel to give your child your phone number too.
