Welcome to the Australian Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Practitioners (AMAPP). Please explore our site as it is being created and expanding.
In February 2023 the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) rescheduled Psylocibin and MDMA from Schedule 9 to Schedule 8. This allowed them to be legally prescribed under very strict conditions for the treatment of Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
AMAPP has been formed to be the peak body for psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) in Australia; providing a framework for its safe, ethical, accountable and effective introduction focusing on the best client outcomes. Please read the brief explanation of what PAT is if you are new to the work.
We are in a world-first position to provide guidance at a national level for the legal use of PAT. Our trained members are from multi-disciplinary mental health backgrounds in research and clinical practice and include Doctors, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Nurses, Paramedics and Therapists of different disciplines right across Australia, with extensive knowledge and experience.
With your help, we hope to be a resource for clients, therapists, researchers and the government as we all work to safely introduce this treatment to Australia.
