Arzu is a Eumundi-based fibre artist whose wool-sculpted figures evoke the power and magic of women’s rites of passage. She has held workshops of warmth, story and the Divine Feminine in the Dollmaker's Studio and at major festivals for over 16 years. Her joyful and supportive teaching style allows participants to create well beyond their expectations.
Arzu’s archetypal figurines are an invitation to honour the power and mystery of women’s rites of passage. Evoking a sense of magic and wonder her pieces stand as a reclamation of sacred transitions, a time of liberation and reconnection to our most primal and intuitive selves.
In a slow, meditative and process-led approach, each figure is felted with the single point of a barbed felting needle; a very forgiving technique that is well-suited to beginners. And Arzu is absolutely Passionate about sharing this practice in her dollmaking workshops. She currently offers 5 different experiences. And can arrange a private workshop to suit your group's needs.
"My workshops are so much more than an opportunity to learn skills in dollmaking with wool & textiles.
For over 16 years, I have held a space where our deep Knowing as women is trusted and honoured; a circle where the healing sisterhood holds us in her embrace. With ritual and reverence, we lean into an old old way of being together as women. And from that place, magic flows.
I look forward to meeting you there."
