Darren McCormick from NorMac Rural Services is our guest presenter for this informal session. Darren has worked in pastures and livestock systems for 25 years with a background in dairy pastures and production through the North East valleys.

Darren will take us through assessing pasture health and composition and will cover the following aspects of pasture management:

Planning – short & longer term
Preparation
Renovation phases
Species selection
Timing
Weed control including grass & broadleaf weeds.
Fertiliser/Liming and soil testing
Grazing management
