Ice Bath Challenge for Heart Kids Foundation

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Join me Loren from Soul Wandering as I complete my 30 day cold exposure challenge with an Ice Bath facilitated by Robbie from Spirare. A little bout me, I was born with heart disease and have learnt a lot over my lifetime about the power of trusting your body and feeling into what feels best for you. I took on this challenge to teach myself that it is okay to be uncomfortable and that I can pursue things past the initially flinch we all feel before stepping into doing something we assume is going to be hard.

On the day each participant that joins us for the icy plunge, will have the opportunity to be coached by Robert through breath work and Ice bath.

As an adult with congenital heart disease, this is event is a fundraiser for the Hear Kids Foundation. Heart kids is the only national not-for-profit organisation solely focused on supporting and advocating for all people impacted by childhood heart disease.

What to bring;

  • 1x bag of ice
  • towel
  • wear your swimmers
  • showers are available, so change of clothes is optional.

What are the benefits of breath and cold exposure therapy?

By exposing the body to cold temperatures, one can increase circulation and improve the immune system. Breathing exercises are designed to help increase oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the body, which can improve mental clarity and physical performance. The commitment aspect of this approach involves regular practice and consistency in order to see the full benefits.  Science has shown that breath and cold exposure has many benefits like improving energy levels, reducing stress, increasing focus and concentration and boosting the immune system.

Please keep I am no doctor so please only do what you feel is best for you and your body. Cold therapy and Cardiovascular complexities should be treated with caution. By attending this event you are agreeing to the linked waiver.
