Do you love to draw, sketch, and create your own illustrated worlds? Well, do we have the workshop for you! Join animator, director, and illustrator Ned Wenlock for an inspiring workshop designed for emerging artists aged 9+.

Explore the world of visual storytelling with Ned, whose short films rank amongst Square Eyes favourites. You’ll delve into drawing original characters and sequential storytelling, and bring some of your ideas to life through your very own flip-book—which you can proudly take home.

About Ned
Ned Wenlock is an award-winning animator, illustrator, author and director known for his distinctive style and innovative approach to visual storytelling. Ned’s animation mahi has been featured in festivals worldwide, and includes music videos, ads and short films. Ned’s recent graphic novel TSUNAMI is shortlisted for the 2024 NZ Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.

Participants will need to bring their own lunch. The workshop will include regular snack breaks and a supervised walk break, weather dependent.
