Join us at the Coal Loader for a six-part hands-on workshop series with Sydney Organic Gardens. Across six Saturdays from October 2025 to March 2026, you’ll learn practical skills to grow food at home, no matter your space. Workshops cover small-space food growing, composting and worm farming, fruit tree care, bee-friendly gardening, organic pest management, and regenerative food choices.
Come along to one, or the whole series, and get inspired to make your garden more productive, sustainable and full of life.
This month is Small Space Food Growing using Permaculture:
We can all grow some of our own food at home, even on a balcony. Learn how to use some permaculture techniques to maximise your small space productivity and grow nutrient rich tasty food.
At this workshop you will learn:
• permaculture gardening techniques for growing food in containers,
• how to prepare healthy soil,
• plant seeds & seedlings as a guild
• how to care for your edible plants
It’s a hands-on workshop including, filling a pot with good soil, planting it out and taking it home.
Booking essential – limited to 20 places for each group only.
Cost: $0 to take part however ONLY book if you can make it.
What to bring: BYO keep cup and reusable water bottle etc. Close-toed shoes. Sun protection.
In the case of wet weather, indoor activities may replace the outdoor elements.
