Event description

SIRF IMRt Common Interest Work Group (CIWG) - Online Event via Zoom

Managing Rotable Spares

Rotables are Spare Parts or whole pieces of equipment that can repeatedly and economically be refurbished to a serviceable condition over a period approximating the life of the equipment to which they are related.  Managing this process is one of the most complicated processes in Maintenance & is often not done well.  This is the story of the Opal journey.

Topics to be covered will include:
• Funding & Valuation – Initial Purchase, Valuation of USABLE & DAMAGED Stock
• Storage – How the materials are stored & maintained
• Refurbishment life cycle – From issuing the Materials to retrieving from area to sending for overhaul
• Tracking of repairs – Using SAP Notifications, Purchase Orders, & Internal Orders to track repairs (no spreadsheets)
• Internal & External Repairs – How Internal & External Repairs are managed
• Specifications & Quality – QI on Safety Valves & other materials, QM Module in SAP
• How it works in SAP – Everything is done in SAP.
