Risk Based Inspections
Join us for this informative and interactive Common Interest Work Group (CWIG).
Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) or Risk-Based Mechanical Integrity (RBMI) is more than just a process—it's a dynamic, ever-evolving system that requires constant, skilled attention. It’s not a one-and-done task; it’s a continuous cycle of data input, risk assessment, review, execution, and re-evaluation. The cycle never ends. If someone tells you that your job is finished once the data is entered, they’re wrong!
From the Orica experience with Capstone RBMI and PCMS, it's clear that seamless integration between RBI software and ERP systems depend largely on the dedication and experience of its user-teams.  Success isn’t just about the tools — it’s about the people.
The API 580/581 standards demand a multidisciplinary approach. To operate these systems effectively, you need highly educated and knowledgeable professionals. A strong foundation in API 571 and 579 is essential, but it’s just the beginning. Local legislative expertise is equally critical.
RBI software doesn’t magically solve problems — it performs risk assessments and makes recommendations. To get actionable insights, you must continuously feed it with accurate, up-to-date inspection findings.
Understanding what’s required to perform inspections at the right confidence level is key to maximizing cost savings. Achieving this demands a dedicated team. This is not a part-time role for your site engineers; it’s a full-time commitment.
Above all, equipment history is fundamental. Without it, you’re operating in the dark.
If you're ready to learn how to build, implement, and maintain an effective RBI system, this event is for you. Engage with like-minded professionals, hear practical insights, and discover how to optimize your inspection processes.Â
Please join us for this session and network with likeminded people.
We look forward to seeing you there.
