Join us for an engaging and informative workshop designed for individuals of all ages with Down syndrome, their families, and caregivers. Maintaining good oral health is crucial for overall well-being, and this workshop aims to provide practical tips and guidance on how to achieve and maintain healthy teeth.

Objectives

  • Understand the importance of oral hygiene and its impact on overall health.
  • Gain insights into common dental issues faced by individuals with Down syndrome.
  • Identify the role of regular dental check-ups and how to prepare for dental visits.

SPEAKER - Antonia Scott

Antonia Scott currently is a PhD candidate In faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney. She is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Department Oral Health Promotion and Research, Sydney Dental Hospital, Sydney, Australia.

Antonia's research in Dental radiology focuses on panoramic radiographs as indicators for systemic disease.

Her current project is an exploratory study of panoramic radiographs and adults with Down Syndrome: prevalence of oral and neck pathology.

Antonia is currently working on a thesis titled: Adults with Down Syndrome and Panoramic Radiographs: An Exploration of Dental Anomalies Oral and Neck Pathology and Systemic Disease Indicators
