Description

NewCore Presents - Kim Olver (Olver International, LLC) Licensed counselor, certified coach, author, international speaker, and founder of Mental Freedom®

Kim joins us from the United States to present this practical, engaging workshop for educators to better understand human differences—and create more inclusive, responsive environments.

A Different Approach to DEIB

This workshop introduces the concept of need-strength bias—our natural tendency to judge or misunderstand people who see the world, communicate, and operate differently than we do.

For example:

  • A person with a high need for Connection may struggle with someone with a high need for Freedom

  • A person with a high need for Safety & Security may feel unsettled by someone with a high need for Freedom

  • A person with a high need for Significance may interpret feedback very differently than someone who does not

When you understand your own needs—and learn to recognize them in others—you gain a powerful new lens for reducing conflict and increasing connection.

Who This Is For

Educators and school staff who want to build more inclusive and equitable learning environments, navigate difficult conversations with greater confidence, better understand student and colleague behavior, and strengthen connection across differences.
