This Intermediate Glaze course has been developed for students who have completed the Beginners Glaze Making course, and would like to extend their learning and experience. By way of chemistry theory, practical tests & experimentation, participants will develop new knowledge understanding of the UMF (Unity Molecular Formula) and the primary roles that fluxes as well as Alumina/Silica ratios play in the development of ceramic glazes.
The course will also cover:
Developing speciality glazes (Matte/Gloss, Cr/Sn Pinks, Celadons etc)
Colour blending using multiple oxides & stains
Glaze faults and how to fix them
And MORE!
By the end of this course, each participant will have developed their own glaze/s of personal interest from scratch!
