Event description

Take some time out to nurture yourself. Join a group of incredible humans diving deep into relaxation, rejuvenation and transformation through a gentle yet powerful Rebirthing Breathwork journey, followed by a creative exploration through which we'll integrate our experience.

We'll explore, we'll relax, we'll create, we'll cocoon, we'll nurture. 

This will be a very small group which will allow each of you to have your own space to go deep within. If life feels too busy right now, take this gift for yourself, and spend it in the company of this nourishing and gentle space. 

About Rebirthing Breathwork
Unlock your body’s innate capacity to soothe, relax and heal itself through the gentle power of rebirthing breathwork. During a session, you will be guided into a conscious connected breathwork cycle that will allow your body to access the physical, emotional or soul level release it needs during your session.

Rebirthing Breathwork is a fantastic practice alone, but in a group there’s an entirely different energy. Everyone arrives together, checks in together, breathes together, emerges together and integrates together… magic!

In a Rebirthing Breathwork session we replicate the breathing rhythm of a new-born baby, which is a gentle connected breathing rhythm designed to calm the nervous system. Rebirthing Breathwork can sometimes feel relaxing; at other times it may feel invigorating or uncomfortable, as the body uncovers and releases stuck energy, long-held patterns and physical and emotional pain. Rebirthing Breathwork sessions are conducted in the spirit of gentleness and surrender rather than pushing or forcing.

Group sessions include up to four people in a cosy space. Throughout the session you will be powerfully held and supported by Jo, an experienced Intuitive Guide, Rebirthing Breathwork Practitioner and Reiki Practitioner who holds a non-judgmental and compassionate space.

About the Creative Writing Component
As we emerge from our breathwork journey, we'll use creative writing to integrate our experience, through prompts or inspirations that will help us engage in automatic writing or pen our thoughts and feelings on paper. This part is entirely optional: if you'd prepare to stay resting in your post breathwork bliss bubble, you are welcome to relax during this time. 

We will close the session with an informal group circle to check in and integrate.

About the day 
This half-day retreat will run for 4 hours, including pre-session check in and post-session integration, where you can share your experiences with the group. You will receive an introduction to Rebirthing Breathwork, an overview of what you may experience during a session, and have the opportunity to ask questions before the breathwork component begins. We will share some tea and snacks towards the end of the session to help with integration.

Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, cushion, water bottle and anything else that will keep you warm and comfortable. Wear warm, comfortable clothing (layers recommended). You will be sitting/lying on the floor to breathe.

The session will be held in a beautiful light-filled wooden studio in Selby in Melbourne's Dandenong Ranges. Exact address will be shared with attendees 48 hours prior to the session. Selby is 3 minutes' drive from Belgrave train station.

Contraindications: We hold participants’ safety in high regard. If you have any of the following, it may not be safe for you to participate in a group rebirthing session: vertigo, recent brain injury, epilepsy, heart conditions, schizophrenia, bipolar. If you have any of these conditions please contact the.yin.breath@gmail.com before booking a group session. Please notify The Yin Breath if you are in your 1st or 3rd trimester of pregnancy.

Before the session:

To ensure you are in the best possible place to get the most out of your session, and for your personal safety, The Yin Breath recommends paying attention to the following:

Please eat lightly on the day of your session, and avoid having a large meal within two hours of the session (this is for your comfort and also to prevent you falling asleep during the session).

Avoid alcohol or recreational drugs for at least 24 hours prior to the session. Please avoid or reduce caffeine intake on the day of the session.
