Create your own piece of costume magic over two (6 hours) sessions in a small group up to 5 participants.
Learn techniques used by specialist costume makers and design, refine and create your very own leather costume piece. This is an intro into leather work in film and theatre and Katja will guide you through your own process of creativity. Our second session will take place on Saturday 27th from 10am - 4pm.
Over two full Saturdays we will go through:
- pattern making tricks/ how to measure correctly
- intermediate to advanced leather craft skills: cutting, dyeing, glueing of leather
- wet moulding
- saddle and machine stitching
- art finishing
What to bring:
- an idea of what you want to make, Katja will contact you prior to your first lesson to discuss.
- your tools (if you have any)
- a costume you have been wanting to make and need help with
Tools, glues, paints and some leathers are provided, additional leather, if needed, can be purchased through Katja or you are welcome to bring your own.
