Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga - Practice & Philosophy
Event description
Join Michelle Freeman, certified yoga teacher and yoga therapist with 25+ years experience for this simple introduction to the practice and philosophy of Ashtanga Yoga.
Ashtanga Yoga is more than a physical yoga practice.  There is a philosophy behind the physical form, and in this 60 minute workshop, you will learn how to bring that simple philosophy into your life and how the yoga practice helps to seed those principles into a practical manifestation through daily practice.
This workshop will include a short and simple version of the Ashtanga Yoga Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutations and simple breathing practices, you can use daily as either a way to awaken the body and mind or to bring a sense of calm and peace to turbulent days.
This workshop is open to anyone interested in learning more about how to bring yoga into your daily life. Â The practices introduced will be very simple and easy to follow so beginners are welcome to join, but even more experienced yoga practitioners could benefit from re-visiting basics and looking at how the philosophical side enhances the yoga practice.
This session will be recorded and a replay will be available if you cannot make the live session.
If you have any questions about whether this workshop is for, feel free to message the host.
