Class Description:
This class will cover the basics of graphic design, teaching you to combine words and images to create a high-impact finished design. We will discuss best practices, strategies, and elements including typography, color contrast, accessibility, branding, and writing. We will use Canva, one of the most popular graphic design platforms in use today. Canva is used by many communications professionals in our jobs and is used in many other applications such as personal projects, branding, social media, and art. Canva has now integrated aspects of AI into its program, and we will discuss how to use these features. You will walk away from this class with a completed project of your choice which could be a mood board, logo, branding guide, design for apparel or products, or many other options. Participants will need to bring their own computer/tablet and be able to sign up for a Canva account via email.
