Introduction to food preservation - October
Description
This is one of our most popular classes!
In this class we will learn the basics of food preservation, specifically focussing on bottling as our method.
Together we will make 3 different preserves and work through the method to make them shelf stable. (no refrigeration required) Recipes will vary from season to season, if you have a specific request please let me know and I will do my best! Remember I ALSO offer small private classes where you choose the content!
Things we might make:
Something pickled - eg/ Bread and butter pickles, dill pickle, jalepenos
Something saucy - eg/ Hot Sauce, ketchup, bbq sauce
Jam - eg/ Marmalade, jam, conserves, syrup, cordial
Condiments, eg/ Chutney or relish
Each participant will take home jars of their creations and recieve and email with all recipes and instructions for later use.
All jars are included in the price of your ticket, please byo apron if you would like one.
Light refreshments will be provided on the day. Please email any dietary restrictions and I will do my best to accomodate.
