Description

Learn to tell a compelling story that grabs the interest of non-fiction readers.

Drawing on decades of non-fiction writing, Quentin Beresford will introduce attendees to the techniques and style of narrative non-fiction writing – a genre that combines actual events with narrative techniques typically found in fiction.

Using examples from his own work, along with other authors, Quentin will discuss the importance of building a strong foundation through research and structure, the creation of a narrative arc, character development, creating dramatic effects, and building a writing style that provides an engaging experience. He will also discuss the need to maintain the balance between real life events and the creative process involved in bringing them to life. Attendees will be able to discuss narrative non-fiction techniques in relation to their own areas of interest.
