Invitation To Pause, Rest & Reset
Description
Are you feeling stressed or overwhelmed?
Are you always rushing from one thing to the next?
Are you having difficulty settling down to relax at the end of the day?
Are you always taking care of others, leaving little time for your own needs?
If this is you, please accept this invitation to pause, rest & reset.
Join Caz as she uses the soothing vibrations of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls & other instruments to encourage deep relaxation & bring about a sense of calm.
What happens during a Sound Bath?
You might notice a shift in your nervous system - with today's fast pace of life, we often spend the majority of our days in our sympathetic state for rapid action (fight or flight). As the sound begins, you may start to shift towards your parasympathetic state of calm (rest & digest).
Your heart rate may begin to slow, reducing blood pressure & encouraging muscle tension to release & melt away.
Your breath may become slower & deeper.
Your mind may shift from beta waves which keep the mind alert & problem solving towards gentler frequencies such as alpha waves, associated with calmness, relaxation & creativity or theta waves which promote meditation, recovery & healing.
Your cortisol levels (stress hormone) may fall, improving immune system function & better digestion.
Your vagus nerve, considered the main nerve of the parasympathetic system responsible for calm, is activated by the frequency of the instruments played so a sound bath may feel like a physical experience & not simply an auditory one.
If you enter theta state, you may feel heavy or start to drift off to sleep. This is a sign that your nervous system is ready to release & finally let go of everything you have been holding. Let it happen.
When the sound bath ends, you may feel different. You may feel like you have pressed a reset button & somehow returned with deeper breath, slower heart rate & feeling a little lighter & calmer then before.
What to bring
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move & relax in.
Bring your own yoga mat & any cushions or blankets that you may want for comfort. (There may be mats & bolsters at the venue but it is perhaps nicer to have your own!)
You may want to bring an eye mask to block out the light & focus on the auditory and physical experience.
A bottle of water is recommended.
If you might like to journal or take notes after the experience, please also bring these along.
Photography & filming
This session may include some photography & videography to capture the atmosphere & to share for future events & marketing.
We will ensure that this is done respectfully & will not detract from the experience.
If you would prefer not to be included in any photographs or footage, please let your host know upon arrival & your wishes will be respected.
