My name is Carolyn, but most know me as Caz, and I am the founder of PerFORMance Fitness & Wellbeing.

From the age of two, I dreamed of becoming a dancer on the stage. I spent years studying all genres of dance, music and performing arts, and had a successful career as a professional performer, choreographer and teacher.

I then wanted to move into an area where I felt I could be of better service to others, inspiring and leading more people to learn about their bodies, to move with intention, awareness and in alignment. Classes inspired by the principles of Pilates align beautifully with the principles of a dancer so this felt like a natural progression. I believe that movement is medicine, not just for the body but also for the mind. I aim to make my classes challenging but accessible to all.

As I continued to work in the fitness industry, it became apparent that there was an integral part missing, The main focus was on building strength, stamina and endurance but there was not a great deal of importance given to adequate rest and recovery. Our modern world moves at such a pace with constant interruptions and the pressure to be productive and our nervous systems are paying the price. We are living in our hyper alert state for the majority of our days and most find it difficult to shift into a state of rest & recovery.

I was also feeling this way, rushing from one thing to the next, with little time for rest. My anxiety was triggered and I was not sleeping well. Some friends invited me to their Breathwork and Sound Bath session.

That was it. I had found something that calmed my racing thoughts and allowed me to move into a restful state.

So, having studied some more, I am now able to add Sound Baths to my offerings. These sessions are about being given permission to pause, to slow down, to breathe, to set down all of the things you are carrying and allow yourself to let go and shift into your parasympathetic state. The vibrations and frequencies of the instruments create a calming experience for the body and mind, inviting you to switch off from the outside world and reconnect with a sense of inner peace. If you are ready to rest, reset and return anew, come and join me.
