Event description

It’s A Family Affair returns for 2024. Hosted by The Sticker Club, this fun afternoon of music has long been one of the most popular events held at the Petersham Bowling Club over the last twelve years. Some of those kids who came along way back then as toddlers (and were inspired by some local rock and roll) are now grown up and in their own bands!

PLAYING TIMES

2.30 - 2.45       The Sticker Club (first set)

2.55 - 3.20       Simon and the Harmonic Sun Travellers

3.30 - 3.50       The Sticker Club (second set)

4.05 - 4.35       The After Thoughts

4.50 - 5.30       Alannah Russack’s Entropy Band

Headlining this time around is Alannah Russack’s Entropy Band. Not only featuring Alannah from the much-loved Hummingbirds, the band includes Jadey O’Regan. Marc Scully and Shane Melder. They will be playing songs from Alannah’s recently released As Memories Pass Each Other album.

Playing before the Entropy Band are The After Thoughts, who call themselves an ‘indie rock band from the Inner West of Sydney’ but they are so much more than that! They played the last Family Affair and were so good, we’ve invited them back again!

The Sticker Club will be opening the show at 2.30 and will be playing two short sets, but tucked in between will be the Sydney debut of Simon McLean, who released an album for kids last year under the name Simon and the Harmonic Sun Travellers. Every Day in The Sun is the fulfilment of a long-held dream for Simon, who says: “I’ve been playing the majority of these songs with children for years and always hoped one day to collect them together on a record, presenting them as a journey through the seasons”.

The Sticker Club will be playing songs from both their albums (released by ABC Kids) so make sure you get to the Petersham Bowling Club early to see them strut their unique brand of rock’n’roll for all ages!
