Event description
Arrive early for an herbal brew, ceremonial cacao, or a sweet treat by Jaya Kava. Roll out your BYO mat for breathwork and body stretches with Jai, then bathe in a savasana serenade with local guitar legend Raji Malik. Awaken to live music like a prayer that ripples out healing for all beings from Raji Malik to Gaia Raga! You'll want to dance and shimmy and eventually melt back into your mat as we close out with a soothing somatic sound healing by Tina Francine and Dija, with soul-stirring, live-looping vocals & crystal bowls.
Curry will also be served! All food and drink is offered on a suggested donation basis.

GAIA RAGA: is a multi-instrumental band known for their "living universe of sound," blending folk, jazz, and Indian classical music with influences from poets like Rumi. The ensemble features twin-voiced harmonies from Niki Arrowsmith and Karsyn Wagner, percussion by Andy Dreamos and Chris Smith, bass from Matthew Trice, and sitar and saxophone played by Dreamos. Their original music often carries a timeless, ancient feeling and they are currently working on a concept album inspired by Rumi's poetry.

RAJI MALIK has performed and recorded hard rock and instrumental Indian influenced music in the Philadelphia area for the past 30 years. Self-taught, he began playing guitar when he was 19 years old. His initial musical influences were the great rock guitarists Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Jimi Hendrix, and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd). Then, he discovered Shakti, featuring 3 masterful Indian musicians and guitar legend John Mclaughlin playing a modified sitar-like acoustic guitar. He promptly put away his electric guitar and immersed himself in the pure tones of the acoustic guitar. Now, he finds deep inspiration from many brilliant "Modern Fingerstyle" guitarists who are all disciples of the late Michael Hedges -- a man who reinvented the acoustic guitar with his harmonic percussive playing.
"I hope that my music brings you peace, healing, and inspiration. Much love to you all!" --Raji Malik.

JAIKUNTHA: a term we coined to bring us into deeper awareness of what is we are actually here for.
My business Jaya Kava, is named in honor of the Hindu deity, Jaya, who is a divine feminine guardian of the house of eternal bliss: Vaikuntha.
Vai "free from" Kuntha "suffering" is a place that is not accessible to us, here on Earth. However, Jai "celebration" or "victory" Kuntha "obstacles" or "suffering" -- IS ACCESSIBLE: should we so choose it.
Suffering and Obstacles abound. Yet, we can still choose joy, and choose to invest our energies in activities that ripple healing into the rest of the world. We can celebrate in the suffering, we can be victorious amidst the obstacles: it's all mindset and conscious action.
We can't wait to dance with you and let it ripple.
