The Kel Timmons / Clint Allen Quintet brings together two of Brisbane’s most prolific drivers of musical life. Kel Timmons (Bankrupt Billionaires/Resin Dogs) is an exceptional vocalist with a trademark voice reminiscent of the Jazz and Soul greats of the 50s and 60s. Renowned trumpeter Clint Allen (Bullhorn/Resin Dogs/Dezzy D & The Stingrays) is a prominent recording and performing artist who has played all over the world and can be regularly seen around Brisbane playing a diversity of music from Hip Hop to Swing. Backed by a stellar rhythm section featuring Brett Fowler on piano, Andrew Shaw on bass and Dave Cotgreave on drums, the Kel Timmons / Clint Allen Quintet present magnificent originals and inspiring arrangements of classic standards exploring the boundaries of Modern Jazz, Soul and Funk.
"Seeing the Kel Timmons/ Clint Allen Quintet was one of life's memorable performances. They were truly exceptional and had the audience in their hands. Clint Allen's flawless trumpet playing was brilliant as was Kel Timmons on vocals. The audience was spellbound." President, Brisbane Jazz Club
Travis Jenkins is a prominent multi-instrumentalist from Meanjin (Brisbane), specialising in guitar with a strong focus on jazz and other forms of improvised music. His latest combo, the classic organ trio format (featuring Sam Castan on drums and Lochlan Feng on hammond organ) looks to feature an eclectic variety of approaches to organ trio music. With influences ranging from Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jimmy Smith, Larry Goldings, Medeski Martin and Wood, and John Scofield, to perhaps some more obscure influences such as Jamie Saft, John Zorn, Lez Baxter and the Thai folk music known as "Molam". The trio have just finished recording their debut record at Prime Audial Soup studios which is set to be released later this year.
Funky Jazz Duo The Seats with Brett Folwer (keys) and Dave Cotgreave (Drums) bring unmatched skills and passion to their deep dive originals and vintage arrangements.
