A night of original compositions, jazz standards and open improvisation.
Melbourne-based Chris Pappas Quartet draws inspiration from the exploratory music of Joe Henderson, Sonny Rollins and Wayne Shorter, alongside contemporary groups such as the Melissa Aldana Quartet and Joe Lovano Trio.
The music is built around conversation — melody, rhythm and improvisation constantly moving between four musicians, with each player responding to and reshaping the music in real time.
