Jeans Satchel Workshop (Includes hand stitching)

In this 5-hour workshop (over 2 sessions), you'll upcycle an old pair jeans into a lined satchel bag, with internal pocket and hand stitched flap.

We'll teach techniques of cutting and reconstructing the jeans, embellishing the flap with different techniques of hand stitching, and making the lining with pocket, to create your own unique bag.

The 2 classes are:

• Tuesday May 19th, 4 till 6.30pm and

• Tuesday May 26th, 4 till 6.30pm

All materials are provided, but you're welcome to bring your owns jeans if you like.

Basic machine sewing experience is required, and you can bring your own machine or use one of ours. 

Our workshops: Here at Upcycle Newcastle we use circular economy principles. This means we will be using recycled and reclaimed fabrics and haberdashery items for our workshops. We are deeply passionate about diverting textile waste from landfill and we do this through upcycling.
