Jeff Usher’s Forty Years of Jazz Concert Series continues on Saturday 20 September with a performance by Jeff Usher and A Love Supreme Super Band at JMI Live Studio.
Jeff founded this band in 2005 to perform his arrangement of John Coltrane’s sacred suite, ‘A Love Supreme’, which they have performed numerous times since.
This time around, the Super Band will comprise Jeff Usher (piano), Jesse Carmona (USA) (alto sax), Max Irvin (tenor sax), Brad Esbensen (trumpet), John Nagy (flute and baritone sax), Matt Cocking (trombone), Catherine Esbensen (bassoon), Nick Maskell (bass) and Joe Rutledge (drums). For this concert, the Super Band will perform some of Jeff’s compositions, including several which he composed for his PhD in music composition at University of Qld, which he received in 2019.
