Junior Beach Explorers

Join our rangers for a beach exploring activity and learn about marine parks, and what lives in this marine and coastal environment. There will be fun family activities including the chance to practice being a marine biologist with some underwater writing.

Accessibility:

Activity involves soft sandy beaches. Access to the beach is via a stairway.


Who is this event for?

This activity is suitable for families with kids of all ages (best suited for ages 5-12 years). Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.



Meeting Point

Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park - Visitor Centre

We will travel in convey to the beach, either Little Emu Bay or Chinamans Hat Island Beach. Location will be selected based on weather conditions on the day.


What to Bring:

• Shoes suitable to walk on beach
• Sun protection
• Insect repellent
• Clothes that you can roll up to the elbows and knees, or bathers underneath (for getting your feet and hands wet!)
• Drinking water (1 litre minimum)
• Underwater camera (optional)

IMPORTANT:

• Vehicle entry to the park is free for registered attendees of Park of the Month events.
• NPWS aims to provide inclusive events and activities for all, however some of our events do have specific requirements for participants. • This event may be cancelled in the event of severe/wet weather or Extreme/Catastrophic Fire Danger in the Yorke Peninsula Fire Ban District.
