Friends of Nowanup Kambarang Noongar Music and Culture Camp and Working Bee
Event description
Noongar Elder Eugene Eades and Friends of Nowanup invite you to join us in our Kambarang Noongar music and culture camp and working bee. Come and enjoy our seasonal Noongar language and culture workshops, supported by music, song, dance, crafts and food.
This camp is extra special because we will also be holding a birthday celebration for Eugene on Saturday. There will be sharing of stories, songs and lunch around the fire. We welcome you to come for the day or stay for the weekend. Eugene has been working so hard at Nowanup for so long, so we are asking for donations towards a holiday for Eugene. Donations can be made by clicking on the Get Tickets link.
Timing: Arrive from Friday mid-afternoon and depart early Sunday afternoon or come when you can between those times
Who can attend: This camp is open to individuals, groups and families with an interest in music and Noongar cultural connections
Catering: Provided. Community cooking help is appreciated.
Costs: Please allow a contribution of $110 ($70 concession) for two nights. We ask for a $20 contribution towards lunch if you are just coming for the day on Saturday. Children over six years $20. Children under 6 are free. Contact Rod if you would appreciate financial support to attend
What to bring: Please bring your own camping gear, clothes for cold and wet weather, musical instruments, art materials and gloves for our working bee
For more information please contact Rod Safstrom on 0402 287 811 or email rodsafstrom@iinet.net.au or Sally 0416 781 532
