Description
Do you have a budding zoologist, wildlife vet or nature lover in your family?
If so, our Kanyana Kids program is just for them!
Kanyana Kids is our after-school program for 7-11 year olds who love wildlife. The program is offered on Tuesday afternoons for five weeks every term, with a different wildlife or ecology topic investigated each term. Each week you will meet and learn about some of our wonderful sanctuary animals, as well as complete fun art, craft and outdoor activities.
Program Details
Program length: 5 weeks
Cost: $80 per term
Arrive: between 3.30-4.00pm for afternoon tea (provided by Kanyana)
Session Time: 4.00-5.00pm
Term Details
Term 1:
Topic - Animal Heroes - Find out how you and your family can help our Australian wildlife, and how to become a citizen scientist.
Dates - 17 Feb, 24 Feb, 3 Mar, 10 Mar, 17 Mar
Term 2:
Topic - Birds Up Close - Meet some of the amazing birds that live at Kanyana and learn what makes them so special.
Dates - 28 Apr, 5 May, 12 May, 19 May, 26 May
Term 3:
Topic - Marvellous Mammals - Did you know there are 3 different types of mammals at Kanyana? Let's learn about them.
Dates - 4 Aug, 11 Aug, 18 Aug, 25 Aug, 1 Sep
Term 4:
Topic - Natures Helpers - Come and meet the many insects and reptiles which play a very important role in the ecosystem.
Dates - 20 Oct, 27 Oct, 3 Nov, 10 Nov, 17 Nov
What to bring/wear:
Water (there is a water bottle filling station on site)
Please wear enclosed shoes and weather appropriate clothes.
Parents are welcome to stay onsite.
