Event description

𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐰, 𝐎𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐮𝐦 & 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 present the World Premiere of a new collaboration between UK bass legend 𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑜𝑛 (DE) and North Indian classical prodigy 𝑆𝑖𝑑𝑑ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑎 𝐵𝑒𝑙𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑢 (IN).

One of the most original and critically lauded voices in electronic music, Shackleton has moved from the depths of the early 2000s dubstep underground to a diverse range of international collaborations and commissions in the last decade. After a mind-blowing dancefloor live set at Miscellania last year, he returns with a world premiere of a new collaborative work of electronics, harmonium, and voice with Siddhartha Belmannu bringing together their differing sonics into a new, thrilling form.

Siddhartha Belmannu is a North Indian classical musician, based in Bangalore. With Carnatic and North Indian classical musical training, Siddhartha's preternatural talent and knack for originality and experimentation have seen him both acclaimed in Indian Classical and Western contemporary experimental music contexts, including performances at touchstone events Atonal and Terraforma under his belt.

Two live supports round out the bill - 𝐼𝑟𝑎𝑛 𝑆𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑑𝑧𝑎𝑑𝑒ℎ, a composer, performer, and instrument maker working at the intersection of musical acoustics and improvisation, making music that is compelling for both the mind and body. Plus the classically-trained and contemporarily-informed 𝐵𝑎𝑙𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑆𝑖𝑛𝑔ℎ, who will perform live with sitar and FX to generate immersive worlds of resonance and melody.

Late-night sets building the dancefloor from Eora-based esoteric selector 𝐷𝐽 𝑀𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑦 and Naarm's local legend of freaky bass, 𝐾𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑒.

A night of drone, drums, bass, and beyond. Limited early entry tickets now available in bio. Last Shackleton show sold out in 10 days.
