Join us for an afternoon with US music legend Kevin Welch, supported by Hitch Up The Pony.
Kevin is a renowned singer and songwriter whose songs have been covered by a long string of artists over the last 40 years, including Waylon Jennings, The Highwaymen (Willie, Waylon, Cash and Kristofferson), Solomon Burke, Linda Ronstadt, Patty Loveless, and Roger Miller. Most recently, Grammy-award-winning superstar, Chris Stapleton, released a version of Welch’s song “Millionaire”, which stayed on the Billboard Chart for 50 weeks, and made it to #2.
He recorded three iconic albums with Kieran Kane and Fats Kaplin, You Can’t Save Everybody, Lost John Dean, and Kane Welch Kaplin and has toured Australia several times with Kieran and Fats in the 1990s.
Music has carried him around the planet, earning him deep respect in the musical community and fans from every walk of life, including the former president of the United States, Barack Obama. He currently lives on the south coast of New South Wales with his beautiful wife, a houseful of kids and a pup, writing songs and pining for Tex-Mex food.
