Kids Bike Riding Skills Session
Description
IMPORTANT: This workshop is for children who can already ride a bike without training wheels and can balance, stop and pedal without assistance. This workshop is designed to build on practical skills and to boost confidence to refresh core cycling skills. Learn to ride workshops for beginner riders who do not have the above skills will be run later on in the year. Suitable for children aged between 8 - 15 years old.
Limited places are available and please DO NOT BOOK if you cannot commit to attending the workshop with your child. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times during the training session.
A relaxed, off-road cycling lesson for children who want to build confidence and ride safely. This session is perfect for return riders, or kids wanting to refresh core skills.
We focus on practical, real-world riding in a fun and supportive environment, with no pressure and plenty of guidance.
What we cover:
Bike safety checks (ABC quick check)
Starting, stopping & riding in a group
Balance, control & riding on different surfaces
Signalling, scanning & road awareness
Gears (if applicable)
Riding in a line & safe spacing
Shared path & footpath safety rules
Confidence games and skill challenges
Who it’s for:
All riders must pedal independently (no training wheels)
Ideal for kids or teens who want to increase cycling confidence
Must be aged between 8-15 yrs old.
What to bring:
Own bike and helmet for each rider, water bottle, and comfortable clothing. Bike must be in good good condition and working order.
This workshop is being run by The Pedal Set Go team who have years of experience helping people of all ages learn to ride - and ride better - in the city, safely and with confidence. They provide inclusive bike riding lessons, guided rides, e-bike safety training, and bike maintenance courses throughout Sydney.
