    Knot A Meditation: Castlemaine

This event has passed Get tickets

    Event description

This activity is for transgender, gender diverse, nonbinary, and questioning people.

    About the session:

Inspired after their voyages aboard old wooden sailing ships full of rum, chocolate, coffee and tea in the name of sustainable shipping.
Herb has created this somatic workshop.
    Knots are practical and cathartic.
    Pretty and handy.
    Creative and repetitive.
Using our hands to ground ourselves and remain present.
For some people meditation can take dark turns letting our nervous systems heighten instead of settling.
Thus this workshop is all about storytelling and repetitive hand movements.
We will come together to share an ancient art form that can be used to secure your soul and your things.

    What to expect:
    In this hour-long session, you
will be shown the options for using knot tying instead of meditation to remain present.

    Materials will be provided.

A separate space will be available to take a break at any time, with fidgets, plushes, blankets, and earplugs available.

    About the facilitator
Herb has sailed wooden sailing boats around Europe and across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. He is passionate about sharing stories so people can learn how accessible and magical this can be.
