Kondalilla Listening - International Forest Bathing & Soundwalk Weekend Event
Description
Listen to the Living World.
Across the world, as part of the International Forest Bathing & Soundwalk Weekend, we will be inviting people to slow down, listen more deeply and reconnect with the living Earth.
We will walk with the rainforest, our ears open to the rich soundscape of trickling creek, calling birds and cool gullies in springtime.
Together, but intentionally quiet, what will our group hear and share from the forest and our own hearts?
Join this guided Soundwalk where we walk with rainforest alongside the Obi Obi Creek, in Kondalilla National Park.

This walk includes:
Orientation to place, acknowledgement of country and a guided Soundwalk by ANFT certified guide
You are invited to join the group afterwards for
morning tea at Secrets on the Lake cafe and
an unguided sit spot with Obi Obi creek for quiet observation, creativity or meditation in nature.
What is a soundwalk?
A Soundwalk is an invitation to experience a place through listening.
By moving slowly and paying attention to the sounds around us, familiar or unfamiliar places can be experienced in a different way.
The purpose is not to identify every sound.
The invitation is to listen.
Your guide will introduce the walk and support the group to walk without speaking so that we can hear the forest together.
What is nature connection?
For an introduction to guided forest bathing for nature connection, please join us at our monthly Reconnecting with Nature events, subscribe to our newsletter or follow Held Outside Nature Connection Experiences at the links below in the 'Host' section. You can also read up about it on the Held Outside website.
About the trail
We'll meet at the Lake Baroon trailhead of the Kondalilla National Park trailhead and journey together along the Obi Obi Creek. We'll be surrounded by lush rainforest, freshwater streams and cascades, ferns and tall gums.
It's a trail with some ups and downs, including a few stairs. You'll need a moderate fitness level to walk about 3km over the 1.5 hours. There is not a public toilet at the trailhead, but one nearby at the lake.
