Find Your People: Making Industry Connections with Georgia Cabelle

🗓 Saturday 24 May | 🕛 12–2pm
💸 $20
☕ Tea, coffee & light nibbles provided

Looking to connect with fellow writers, build meaningful industry relationships, and grow your creative network? Whether you're just starting out or already knee-deep in your writing career, this fun, practical session with Georgia Cabelle is the perfect place to build your writing community.

In this interactive two-hour information session, you’ll learn:

  • The different types of writing communities that exist — and how to find the one that fits you,
  • Where (and how!) to meet other writers and published authors — in person and online,
  • How to use social media to create and maintain real connections, and
  • Tips for reaching out to professionals when researching your work.

You’ll get access to helpful resources, successful examples, and a ready-made list of places to start connecting — plus a chance to mingle at the end, giving you the opportunity to add fellow attendees to your socials and grow your circle right away. This is your invitation to step out from behind the page and find the people who get it. Expect warm vibes, useful information, and a room full of people who love writing as much as you do.

Come solo or bring a writing buddy — and prepare for a relaxed and informative afternoon that’ll leave you feeling more connected, more confident, and ready to take the next step!

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Georgia Cabelle
is a young Boorloo (Perth)-based writer and alumni of the Australian Writers Centre and Curtis Brown Creative. An avid member of several write clubs - including some based in Los Angeles and London - and co-host of a podcast, her writing explores deep human questions and contemporary issues based in historical settings. When she is not untangling plot points, she enjoys swimming, bike riding, headbanging to classic rock and playing cards with her family. “What Destroyed Oliver Ocean?” is her first novel project, with research taking her to LA - which, as an Old Hollywood nut, quenched her thirst for all things historical, glamorous and scandalous.

This event is organised as part of the Caruso Writer-in-Residence Program and has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, it's principal arts investment and advisory body. KSP Writers’ Centre is proudly supported by the Shire of Mundaring
