Landcare Kiama Coast Walk: Little Blowhole to Minnamurra
Event description
The Kiama Coast Walk is one of the region’s most breathtaking experiences—second only to the famous Blowhole!
Join us for a special guided walk along a stunning section of the trail with local plant expert Carl Glaister. Along the way, you’ll learn about the unique remnant vegetation, the dedicated work of four Landcare groups working along the Walk, and ongoing efforts to restore and protect our coastal ecosystems.
What you’ll discover:
- The native plants that make up our coastal and littoral rainforest vegetation
- The invasive weeds threatening the area and how they’re being managed
- The passionate Landcare community working to regenerate these sites
- How you can get involved in this successful conservation project
The details:
- We’ll start at the Little Blowhole (Tingira St, Kiama) at 8.30am and finish at Minnamurra Headland at 11.30am, where a delicious catered morning tea awaits!
- We will cover approximate 9km of the walk with plenty of opportunities to stop, rest and look around.
- The route includes hills, dirt paths, beaches, pavements, stairs, roads and uneven surfaces.
- Wear sturdy walking shoes, a hat, and comfortable clothing, and bring plenty of water.
We also have a Werri Beach walk on Saturday 3 May and community plantings at Little Blowhole, Kaleula Headland, Bombo Beach, Werri Beach and Minnamurra.
This event is part of our Kiama Coastal Community Planting Program supported by the BUPA Healthy Cities Landcare Grants program.
