Lawn to Garden with Peri Litvak
Event description
As we continue to navigate ongoing droughts and heat waves, now is the perfect time to remove that lawn! We'll walk you through a step by step process to get you started. Learn about lawn-replacement rebate offers and their requirements. From sheet mulching to solarization, get the scoop on the variety of methods to make it happen.
But what happens once the lawn is gone (or will be soon)? Get suggestions on landscape options to create a basic planting plan. We'll explain how to take the turf out and offer low-care, low-water, native plant alternatives for your space.
This class will be held online and recorded. Zoom login instructions will be included in the reminder emails. Registered students will have access to a recording of the class for 2 weeks after the live event.
Peri Litvak is the Administrative Assistant at the Theodore Payne Foundation. She has a Horticulture Certificate from UCLA Extension, where she has also been a Landscape Architecture student, and has several years of experience planting and maintaining California native gardens.
