With extensive experience in senior HR management and business partnering across various sectors in Australia and internationally, she has a proven record of success in implementing effective strategies for organisational change.

Her expertise makes her an ideal fit for her role, and her work at Sydney Water provides attendees an opportunity to gain insights into the approached employed by the organisation to promote diversity and inclusivity.

Dr Lisa Fowkes
Director Employment, Social Ventures Australia

Lisa leads SVA’s employment work. This work aims to contribute to system changes by generating new ideas and insights as well as improving the effectiveness of existing approaches. A key focus of this work is improving pathways for young people facing disadvantage into quality work.

Lisa has spent over 15 years as a practitioner, researcher, and policy advocate in the area of “welfare to work”. For 10 years she worked in management roles in large non-profit employment services provider, for the last 3 ½ as CEO. In 2018 she completed her PhD which examined the design and delivery of employment services in remote, predominately First Nations communities.

Susan Whillas

In her role at SVA Susan is supporting employers to design and implement a bespoke workplace pilot to create quality jobs and careers for young people facing disadvantage into their organisation.

Susan has three decades of experience as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practitioner working in and with employers to improve workplace environments, including as a senior consultant for the DCA. Since 2012 Susan is a preferred provider of Performance and Management Services to the NSW government and consults extensively om DE&I with key focus on capacity building and strength based interventions to create inclusive workplaces. Susan previously worked as Coordinator of Waringarri Aboriginal Corporation nfp in the remote Kimberley, W.A. supporting thirty emerging outstation communities with advocacy food, health, communication and education services on country.

Susan holds a Masters in Mediation and Conflict Resolution that underpins diversity and inclusion work by supporting individuals and teams communication and conflict competencies to enhance workplace culture.

The Career Ladder is Broken.

SVA’s Employer Innovation Lab is currently supporting 15 leading employers to manage their aging workforce and find the talent they need to sustain and grow whilst supporting this generation.

This event is ideal for People and Culture professionals within our membership.
As a member of IPA you can register up to 2 people, subject to availability, to attend this event. This event is for IPA members only, there will be no public access to this event.
