This year, we are honoured to welcome Dr Paul Briggs AO, a visionary First Nations leader, Elder of the Yorta Yorta Nation and Executive Chair of the Kaiela Institute to deliver the Oration. Dr Briggs will be joined by his daughter, Belinda Briggs, an elected representative of the First People’s Assembly of Victoria, Co-Chair of Kaiela Arts, and Curator at the Shepparton Art Museum, as they explore Generations of Leadership.
The conversation will be hosted by highly respected leader Professor Christine Nixon AO, APM, former Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police and Leadership Victoria Board Chair.
We encourage you to bring your family, friends and colleagues to hear these outstanding leaders speak, and to participate in an interactive Q&A. Drinks and snacks will be available during networking time after the Oration.

About the Speakers:
Esteemed Yorta Yorta Elder Dr Paul Briggs AO, Executive Chair of the Kaiela Institute, brings over 50 years of leadership in First Nations rights and advancement. Drawing on the legacy of Yorta Yorta leaders like Sir Doug Nicholls, Dr Briggs has dedicated his career to fostering sustainable social and economic change for First Nations communities.
Under his leadership, several pivotal institutions were established including the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO), the Victorian Indigenous Leadership Network, the First Nations Australian Credit Union and the Rumbalara Football Netball Club. He was also the first Indigenous man appointed to the University of Melbourne Council in its 150 year history.
Joining Dr Briggs is his daughter Belinda Briggs, a dynamic next-generation leader, Elected Representative for North East Victoria in the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, Co-Chair of Kaiela Arts, and Curator at the Shepparton Art Museum.
