Land For Wildlife Workshop - Nature Journaling (Launceston)
Event description
You are warmly invited to join a Nature Journaling Workshop with Dr Paula Peeters.
Sunday February 18th, 2024 | 10am - 1pm | Maximum 25 people
Nature journaling is the practice of drawing or writing in response to observations of nature. The practice slows you down, increases mindfulness (or clears your mind) and increases your attention to detail and appreciation of beauty. It helps you to notice the details in nature, improves your recognition of different species, and your understanding of where and how they live.
This session is pitched towards adults (ages 16 years and above), although interested children, 10 years old and over are welcome, if accompanied by an adult. The 3-hour session includes a brief introduction nature journaling, a reflection on place, beginner lessons in drawing and writing, an exploration of the nature journaling prompts, materials and time for free nature journaling.
Dr Paula Peeters is an ecologist, artist and writer based in Beechmont, Qld, who combines these skills to teach the practice of nature journaling, and regularly collaborates with a range of organisations to bring workshops and lessons to a diverse audience. Paula has been teaching nature journaling since 2016 and has written 3 books. Find out more on Paula’s website and blog: www.paperbarkwriter.com.

TLC recognises that Land for Wildlife landholders make important contributions, both large and small, to nature conservation, and together we are developing a community of conservation.
The TLC acknowledges the original owners of the land, the palawa/pakana people, and we pay our respects to elders past and present.
